To be considered for the position, the Americans had to meet some requirements, which were as follows needed to be test pilots, needed to be no taller than 511, needed to weigh no more than 180 pounds, needed to be under the age of forty, needed to have a Bachelors degree or equivalent, have 1,500 hours of flying time, and have qualifications for flying jets. In addition to the requirements, the pilots had to go through rigorous examen and training that would assure that they were cap adapted handling problems the spacecraft and the flight may pose on them. Out of the handful of pilots who met these requirements, only seven were chosen to become Americas first astronauts who were Alan Shepard, Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schirra, Gordon Cooper, and Deke Slayton.Since these flights were personnel casualty to be manned, NASA contracted Max Faget as the primary designer, along with a team of engineers to build the Mercury Spacecraft. Its design was a cone-shaped one-man capsule with a cylinder mounted on top. Two clips (6 ft, 10 in) long, 1.9 meters (6 ft, 2 1/2 in) in diameter, a 5.8 meter (19 ft, 2 in) escape tower was fastened to the cylinder of the capsule. The blunt end was covered with an ablative heat shield to protect it against the 3000 degree heat of presentation into the atmosphere (Mercury Spacecraft). This design would be the first capsule that would go up into space.Project Mercury was finally undertaken after all of the seven American Astronauts were physically and mentally prepared, the spacecraft was built, and the rockets were safe to launch. Before America could send the first human up into space, they needed to make sure that the rocket was not going to blow up as it had done in launch tests. Engineers and scientists were working hard to accomplish this, but trial after trial, the rockets were always blowing up. Finally, NASA was able to perfect(a) the rocket, and on May 5, 1961, Alan She pard was the first American to be launched into space on the spacecraft called Freedom 7. This event was one of the greatest moments for America which anticipated besides launches into space to explore what is beyond Earths atmosphere. The second flight was manned by Gus Grissom who was launched into space on the spacecraft called Liberty Bell on July 21, 1961. He successfully was able to complete a suborbital flight, but as he landed, his spacecraft hatch blew open and NASA was not able to recover the spacecraft. The first American to orbit the Earth was the third flight using the Friendship 7 spacecraft that was manned by John Glenn on February 20, 1962. He was only able to orbit the Earth three times due to concerns about the spacecrafts heat shield. Then, on May 15, 1963, Gordon Cooper became the first American to be in space for over a day and successfully orbited the Earth twenty-two times using the Faith 7 spacecraft. He was also the last American astronaut to be launched int o space alone.Ultimately, Project Mercury came to its end creating one of the greatest legacies of United States history. The overall cost for Project Mercury added up to $1.6 billion in inflation-adjusted dollars (Program Cost). There are numerous legacies that Project Mercury left to Americans. One of those legacies is the will of America to continue the space programs after President John F. Kennedy state that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before the decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth (President Kennedys Challenge). Also, Project Mercurys greatest bequest is that it was United States first successful human spaceflight program. Project Mercury also influenced author Tom Wolfe who wrote the book The Right Stuff, which was later developed into a movie directed by Philip Kaufman. In conclusion, from the inception and up to the end of the space program, Project Mercury was a prominent accomplishment for the United States, leave one of the greatest legacies for America. It changed the game of how America would accomplish its goals of becoming the first country to send an astronaut to the moon. At the end, the seven American astronauts who were chosen to be part of the space program will always be part of United States history and Project Mercury will continue to be the yard for where we are today pertaining to Americas advanced space program.

Product Life Cycle Essay Example for Free

Product Life Cycle EssayDefinitionProducts come and go. A companys challenge is to hold on to its customers longer than it holds on to its products. It needs to watch the market life cycle and the customer life cycle more than the product life cycle. Someone at Ford recognize this If were not customer driven, our cars wont be either. One selects marketing tools that are appropriate to the stage of the products life cycle. For example, publicise and publicity will produce the biggest payoff in the introduction stage of a product their job is to build consumer awareness and interest. Sales promotions and personal sell grow more important during a products maturity stage. Personal selling bear strengthen customers comprehension of your products advantages and their reliance that the offering is worthwhile.Product Development and Life-Cycle StrategiesIn the face of changing customer needs, technologies and competition, product concept or the organic evolution of new products has become vital to a companys survival. Introducing new products, however, is not sufficient. The impregnable must also know how to manage the new product as it goes by dint of its life cycle that is, from its birth, done harvest-home and maturity, to eventual demise as newer products come along that better serve consumer needs. This product life cycle presents two principal challenges. First, because all products eventually decline, the firm must find new products to replace ageing ones (the problem of new-product development). Second, the firm must understand how its products age and adapt its marketing strategies as products pass through life-cycle stages (the problem of product life-cycle, strategies). We therefore look initially at the problem of finding and developing new products, and then at the challenge of managing them successfully everyplace their life cycles.Innovation and New-Product DevelopmentGiven the rapid changes in taste, technology and competition, a compa ny advisenot rely solely on its existing products to sustain gain or to maintainprofitability. The firm can hope to maintain market and profit performance only by continuous product innovation. Product innovation encompasses a variety of product development activities product improvement, development of entirely new ones, and extensions that increase the range or number of lines of product the firm can offer. Product innovations are not to be confused with inventions. The latter are a new technology or product which whitethorn or whitethorn not deliver benefits to customers. An innovation is defined as an idea, product or piece of technology that has been developed and marketed to customers who perceive it as novel or new.We may call it a process of identifying, creating and delivering new-product values or benefits that were not offered before in the marketplace. In this chapter we look specifically at new products as argue to value creation through marketing actions (such as p roduct/brand repositioning, segmentation of current markets). We also need to distinguish between obtaining new products through acquisition by buying a whole company, a patent or a licence to produce someone elses product and through new-product development in the companys own research and development department. As the costs of developing and introducing major new products have climbed, many large companies have decided to mature existing brands rather than to create new ones. Other firms have saved money by copying competitors brands or by reviving old brands. These routes can contribute to a firms growth and have both advantages and limitations. In this chapter, we are mainly concerned with how businesses create and market new products. By new products we think up original products, product improvements, pnxhict modifications and new brands that the firm develops through its own research and development efforts.Risks and Returns Jri InnovationInnovation can be very risky for a number of reasons1. New-product development is an expensive affair it cost Tate Lyle around 150 million to develop a new sugar substitute pharmaceutical firms pretermit an average of .100-50 million to develop a new drug while developing a super-jumbo project could cost billions.2. New-product development takes time. Although companies can dramatically geld their development time, in many industries, such asPharmaceuticals, biotechnology, aerospace and food, new-product development cycles can be as long as 10-15 years. The uncertainty and unpredictability of market environments only raise the risks of commercialization. Roots had to withdraw Manoplex, a heart drug, less than a year after its launch in the United Kingdom, after a rill on 3,000 patients in the United States and Scandinavia suggested an adverse effect on patient survival. The pharmaeeudeals division lost about 200 million on the drug, which cost near 100 million to develop over a period of 12 years, and about S20 million was spent on promoting and marketing it.3. Unexpected delays in development are also a problem. History is littered with grand pioneering engineering projects which have failed to satisfy the original expectations of bankers, investors and politicians. The Seikan rail tunnel, connecting the island of Hokkaido to mainland Japan, was completed 14 years late and billions of pounds over budget the S10 billion cost of the Channel tunnel, which opened on 6 May 994, a year later than originally planned, is more than bifurcate the 4,8 billion forecast in 1987.4. The new-product success record is not encouraging either. New products continue to fail at a disturbing rate. One recent study estimated that new consumer packaged goods (consisting mostly of line extensions) fail at a rate of 80 per cent. The same high failure rate appears to untune new financial products and services, such as credit cards, insurance plans and brokerage services. Another study found that about 33 p er cent of new industrial products fail at launch.Despite the risks, firms that learn to innovate well become less vulnerable to attacks by new entrants which discover new ways of delivering added values, benefits and solutions to customers problems.

Reflective Account Of A Student Placement Within The Community Setting Nursing Essay

Reflective Account Of A Student Placement Within The Community Setting value EssayThis assignment will provide a reflective account of a student placement at heart the community setting. The reflective model Kolbs breeding cycle (1984) is often referred to in describing experimental learning and can be used in any learning situation. Reflective practice is important to the development of Mentors as professionals as it enables us to learn from our experiences of learn and facilitating student learning. Dix and Hughes (2004) recognise that students and learners can benefit from reflective practise. Jasper (2003) too identifies that reflective practise is an essential tool for student nurses to make that very important touch between theory and practise. It will also highlight the role of the mentor and look at how the learning outcomes of both the mentor and the student were achieved. According to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC 2008) the term mentor is used to highlight th e role of a registerednurse who facilitates learning and supervises and assesses students in the practice place. They also identify the eight required standards that must be achieved to become a mentor, and within the assignment I shall be referring to the Standards to Support Learning and Assessment in Practice NMC standards for mentors, practice teachers and teachers, and identifying the standards that mentors require. I am a staff nurse exerciseing as part of a busy district nursing team up within the community setting. I have 5 years experience as a nurse, as I mentee I will be under the supervision of my mentor who is also a staff nurse with over 20 years experience. Who has over 7 years experience as a mentor. The student that has been allocated to my area of toy is a 26 year old women who is at the beginning of her 2nd year, she has previously worked with the health visitor and In a nursing home setting. sooner starting her educate she worked as a carer in a nursing ho me setting which has given her confidence and personal experience outside her nurse training. I will be outlining the students journey whilst on their placement and How I, with the support of my mentor provided a constructive and nurturing learning environment for the student to develop and equal her learning outcomes. To ensure the student has a positive learning experience it is important that the learning environment is supportive for the student and those who work in it . Clarke et al. (2003) makes indication that learning in the clinical environment is very highly valued and this places several demands on clinical areas and staff. The clinic in which I am based has a wealth of mentors and nurses with vast experience. It provides a positive and supportive learning experience to students who are placed with the district nurses. Although the clinic can be unpredictable clinically and endure to have heavy workloads. We have a resource room for students and the staff are always interested in and aware of the students experience whilst on placement. Our sign meeting took place on the students first day of the placement I issued her the clinics student nurseorientation / resource pack. This provided her with all the basic information about the clinic and the different members staff within the team. Also within the pack was a copy of the NMC guide for students of nursing (2005) for her to keep referring back to, this was to provide a nigh(a) introduction into the learning environment that she would be in during her placement. Cahill (1996) acknowledges that the single most crucial factor in creating a positive learning environment is the human relationship between staff and the student nurses. She also discusses a common problem which arises for students is that they are regularly unable to work with their mentor, so during our initial meeting we discussed and aforethought(ip) her time table taking into account any study days she may have. Kenworthy and Nicklin (2000) comment that the more comfortable and welcome a student feels within the working environment, the more exchangeablely it is that effective learning will take place and the student will become motivated to learn which is a happen upon factor in successful learning. During this meeting we also outlined her learning needs and establish a learning boil down . A learning turn out is a short agreement in writing between the mentor and their student used to ensure learning objectives and module outcomes are identified and met passim the placement (Lowry 1997). Downie and Basford (2003) believe that to identify the learning outcomes at the beginning for the placement is of great benefit to the students. In the learning contract the student outlined she would like to develop skills in the technique of administrating injections. She also expressed an interest in learning the role of a district nurse. It was important for me to know where in her training the student nurse was so I could plan with her effectively when supporting her in the clinical setting. A frequently used taxonomy in nursing is the mannequin by Benner (2001) in which are five levels novice, founding father, competent, proficient, and expert. According to Benners stages of clinical competence which shows the journey of a novice to an expert my student appeared to be an advance beginner as she shows understanding of the NMC code of professional conduct and has some previous work experience which some students in the same year on the product line may not have. Honey and Mumford (1992) explore four different trends of learning which is a variation on kolbs model. It is thought whenever possible, it is essential to allow the students individual style of learning determine your choice of teaching. In seeking to explain kolbs model there are four different styles of learning they describe activists, pragmatists, theorists and reflectors. They also give ear that although many people c an be a mixture of the 4 styles they primarily had a preference for only one. When establishing the learning style of my student I became aware that she was an activist and also reflector. Preferring to observe and gain understanding of the theory and evidence based practise. Then showing a very hands on and experienced approach it became very apparent she preferred to be practical and experimental once she became comfortable with her surroundings. As outlined in her learning contract she was keen to meet her clinical outcome for administrating injections. The NMC standards for mentors (2008) states that students must spend forty percent of their placement with their mentor. This presented a problem as I had a numbers game of annual study days which were mandatory and I had to attend. I discussed this with the student and explained other members of staff would oversee her learning outcomes whilst I was attending courses. This would be lay well in advance so she knew who she would be placed with. She felt this arrangement was suitable as she would be given a chance to work with members of staff with differing experience and skill mix. This would also highlight the diversity in district nursing. I also felt this would enhance her experience within the team making her feel more comfortable with all the members of the team. Beskine (2009) suggests that starting off with a positive approach promotes the students experience as well as the timbre of the placement. It was found by Pearcey and Elliot (2004) that students who have had negative experiences with their mentor and placements tend to leave the course before qualifying. Spoke placements with members of the multidisciplinary team were also discuss at this excite and I gave her a list of recommend contact numbers and details.

Components Constituting A Business Environment Commerce Essay

Components Constituting A Business Environment Commerce EssayThe rapid changes in the health veneration surround harbor preserveed signifi shadowert pressures on the hospitals to pay attention to food marketing strategies in general and health service strategy in fussy. thitherfore this research investigates the bend macro environment factors have on the health service strategy made by the hospital managers. This study proposes and tests a four factor macro environment model that explains the bulky variation in health service strategy in the hospitals. These factors complicate political, Economic, Social, and Technology, namely the PEST depth psychology. The study goes on to conduct a SWOT Analysis of the organisation and critically evaluate how the organisation can accomplish to resonate the s spoth cureds expectations, and the incline that specific stakeholders have on a health and cordial c be organisation. We will critically assess the role of schooling circumspec tion corpses for improving the performance of a health and sociable cargon organisation, and the end making techniques that the attention uses to come up with the business strategies of an organisation.Components constituting a business environmentThe two broad categories that any business environment can be classified into be external and internal environments. A macro environment is thus a part of the external environment.BUSINESS surroundINTERNAL ENVIRONMENTEXTERNAL ENVIRONMENTMACRO ENVIRONMENTMICRO ENVIRONMENTFigure 1 Business environment and its componentsMACRO ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF AN ORGANISATIONThe new environment reality tinting the operation and performance of ecesiss is existence characterized by continuous and often unpredictable change. As a result, many calls have been voiced for organizations to build the ability to decide and adapt to changing and uncertain environmental conditions, in order to sustain their competitive line (Cardwell Bolon, 1996 Godi walla et al., 1997 Chung, 2008 Aapo Tomas, 2008).Macro environment has been the subject of considerable research in both business and marketing literature recently. Furthermore, it became an area of primary concern to all organizations, depending critically on a subtle understanding and analysis of both the industry within which the hospital will compete, and the competitors working in same arena. Studying macro environment factors is an all- great(prenominal) issue in terms of the change magnitude pressure placed upon hospitals and the competition that exists between hospitals. Any attempt at conceptualizing the term macro environment should, at some stage, involve an attempt to answer certain questions, such as1. What is the meaning of macro environment in hospital industry?2. What are the main factors of macro environment? And how do they function health organizations?MACRO ENVIRONMENTMacro environment is largely external to the business enterprise. Macro environment factors are uncontrollable factors and beyond the direct influence and control of the organisation. Its factors are powerfully influence to its functions. External environment consists of individuals, assorts, agencies, organisations, events, conditions and forces. These are frequently contacted by the organisation for its functions. It establishes good interaction and interdependent relations in form of conducts business transitions. Proper designing and administration of macro environment enable appropriate strategies and policies to cope with and make changes. The major forces re cede uncontrollable variables that hospitals mustiness monitor and to which they must be respond. Marketers must in addition pay attention to interactions among forces to identify and take wages of new opportunities and threats. For example of the offerings are affordable ( frugal), they whitethorn actually change attitudes and behaviour (social cultural) (Kotler et al., 2008). Macro-environment consists of b roader forces that affect the actors in the micro environment (Armstrong Kotler, 2011). There are several elements for a macro environment, a detailed assure of which is given below.Figure 2 Macro Environment ElementsThe importance of analyzing the macro environment arises from the critical role it plays in the growth and profitability of organizations. This fact has been clear highlighted by Kotha and Nair (1995), and later by Wagner and Gooding (1997). Thus, by understanding an organizations external environment, Fombrun and Shanley (1992), Gimeno and Woo (1996) indicate that strategic decision-makers can non only help improve its competitive position but also increase its operational cogency, and win battles in the field of global economy. Based on this conclusion, Hill and Jones (1998) have further argued that to succeed, an organization must either fit its strategy to the industry/sector environment in which it operates, or be able to reshape the industry/ sectors environm ent to its advantage through its choice of strategy. Thus, companies typically fail when their strategy no longer fits the environment in which they operate (Hill and Jones, 1998).Crucially, any study of the external environment should include the identification of four major factors, namely Political, Economic, Social and technical.PEST ANALYSISPolitical FactorA Political environment consists of laws, government agencies, and pressure hosts that influence or limit various organizations and individuals in a given society (Armstrong Kotler, 2011). The political factors that whitethorn influence the health service strategy in health solicitude scenario in particular are government objectives, policies, decisions, legal restrictions, various governmental units sharing legislative authority, laws concerning taxation, and privatization decisions. The clinical governance structure has, at its fundamentals, the foundation philosophy of continuous quality improvement (CQI) and total qu ality management (TQM). These two philosophies were developed first in manufacturing and industry, and then adopted by health function institutions in the early 1990s (Berwick, 1989 Kitson, 1994). The overall philosophy is to generate a culture of continuous quality based on effective cooperation between staff, systems spotlight, investment in people and staff, and self-monitoring (McLaughlin and Kaluzny, 1999 Ovretveit, 2000).The political environment is based on the uncertainty. In some countries with multiple numbers of political parties, a political party does not get clear majority to form a government. In this situation, business activities collapse due to minority houseed government. The political parties are unable to theorise stable government it affects and fluctuate the government policies. Therefore, business organisation and public submit a stable government to function smoothly.Economic FactorThe economic environment consists of factors that affect consumer purcha sing power and spending patterns (Kotler et al., 2011). It includes the economic conditions, economic policies, and the economic system that is important to external factors of business. Economic fluctuations in the home market and inflationary factors are also impacts that have an influence, because they can produce both positive and negative effects on the demand for goods and services. For example, they could affect the specifications of certain goods or may require workers to receive specific types of training or preparation (George, 2009 Girijasankar Bhar, 2011).The economic conditions of the country include nature of the economy of the country, the general economic situation in the region, conditions in resource markets like money, material, market raw material components, services, add markets and so on which influence the supply of inputs to the organisation, their cost, quality, availability and reliability of supply of products and services. The application of economic a nalysis in health care decision making, however, particularly with regard to medical necessity, has proven to be highly controversial. Evidence varies regarding the extent to which decision makers actually use economic analysis.Socio-cultural FactorSocial and cultural environment is made up of institutions and other forces that affect a societys basic values, perceptions, preferences, and behaviours (Kotler et al., 2011 Armstrong Kotler, 2011). Socio-cultural trends can present both threats and opportunities for many hospitals. They are reflected in customer wants and needs in terms of a health service. Some of the constituents of the Socio-cultural factor are population, health, education and social mobility, and attitudes to these.Socio-cultural environment is an important factor that should be analyzed while formulating company business strategies. If a company ignores the customs, traditions, tastes and preferences and education, it can affect the business. It consists of fact ors which are related to benevolent relationships and the impact of social attitudes and cultural values. These are bearing on the business of the organisation.Technological factorsThe technology is perhaps the most dramatic force now shaping, our deal (Kotler et al., 2011). Technological factors include impact of emerging technologies, Impact of Internet, reduction in communications costs, increased remote working, research and development activity, and impact of technology transfer. Technological factors some quantifys pose serious problems. A firm that unable to cope with technological changes may not be survived. Further, the differing technological environment of different markets may be called for service modifications.Technology in health services organizations has released such good things antibiotics, robotic surgery, MRI. The technologies environment change rapidly. In the past most of health care managers did not know about the ever-updating technologies that they get t o know of nowadays. New technologies create new markets and opportunities. Therefore, the healthcare managers should study these updating technologies around the world to adopt them in their healthcare business or hospitals. Dramatic advancements in updating technology affect not only the products and services offered by organizations to customers but also the work processes needed. They can offer opportunities to those who can take benefit of such advancements. Otherwise, expecting and responding to technological trends can prove to be costly (Kotler et al., 2008).SWOT ANALYSISIn order to cook factors both within the external environment and within the organisation, a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis have been carried out, the findings of which are enumerated as follows.Strengthswellnesscare brand in the UK is a universally known and well-respected brand. An important sector in all topical anesthetic economies that is a major source of skilled empl oyment.National government prioritisation of the sector for service and skills development.Future employment growth on an upward trend. There is scope for greater integration and higher profile of social careThere are strong link up between Department of Health and the other healthcare institutions like NHSThere are several dedicated communications resources working on social careThere are healthcare companies with working groups with key stakeholders already set upWeaknessesEvery healthcare organisation has strong links to the Department of Health, therefore are unable to establish as an independent organisation. The complexity of the sector and its institutions.A negative public perception of the sector as being characterised by low pay, anti-social hours and working conditions.Substantial recruitment vexedies and skills gaps. The healthcare staff come from different and varied cultures and countries and need to create a commonality identity of working. Intensive training has to be provided yet to all the staff, in addition to communication training everybodys still learning the job.Information collected has essentially remained the same for some time. Decreased relevance and usefulness.Perceived burden of collection among stakeholders.Healthcare branding, for example the NHS, is a barrier for social care stakeholders.OpportunitiesTo be seen as a source of information independent from government and Department of Health.Large-scale recruitment of new and skilled staff.Engage new stakeholders.Improved levels of service associated with a better trained and motivated workforce.Potential for improved IT systems and skills to increase patient focus of care and early reporting of medical successes and shortcomings.Radical pay correct agenda in the NHS which for the first time aligns pay and reward with knowledge and skills development.Improve the online presentation of statistics.Move from measuring activities to measuring outputs and outcomes will make informa tion of more practical use in implementation and monitoring of services.Chance to be seen to streamline collection processes.ThreatsLoss of proper skills and knowledge.Vast diversity in the cultural and communicational backgrounds of the staff and not being able to follow a single agenda. The highly politicised nature of the NHS undermining medium and long term planning. An older age profile than the average for all industries with proportionately low numbers of young employees entering the workforce.A relatively high turnover of staff in some sub-sectors and occupations.Lack of management skills.Slippage to delivery of a common initiative, and its effect on the credibility of the programme.Failure to adequately consult with and engage all stakeholders.Wider local anaesthetic anaesthetic government agenda may be obstructive.STAKEHOLDERS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON THE HEALTHCARE SECTORThe term Stakeholders refers to everybody who has an interest in the health and well being of the local population and the delivery and development of health and social care services. They can range from individual service users and carers to service providers such as primary care professionals, other statutory organisations and local Councils as well as the voluntary and community sectors and the wider public.SERVICE PROVIDERSCARE COMMISSIONERSSERVICE USERSFigure 3 Stakeholders that constitutes core elements of healthStakeholders can be classified into four groupsKey PlayersKeep satisfiedKeep informedMinimal bmKey PlayersThese are the most important Stakeholders they have high power and high interest in healthcare sector and its activities. Such stakeholders need to be involved in all germane(predicate) developments and could have a considerable influence over the future of healthcare sector. They include health commissioners, Practice Based Commissioning (PBC) Groups, the NHS, specialist commissioners (For example, Neuro), healthcare providers, local full time officers of recogni sed unions, patient representative groups, healthcare sector employees, public health, GPs, board members, and local trusts.Keep SatisfiedThis is a particularly difficult group to deal with. In this group, we often find regional representative or legislative bodies. They behave passively most of the time, but that can exert an enormous impact on the organisation. It is therefore necessary to analyze potential intentions and reactions of these groups in all major developments, and to involve them according to their interests. This group includes MPs, Interest Groups, Health Scrutiny Committee, CFT members, local media, Local Strategic Partnerships, Health and Well Being Board, Care Quality Commission, and other professional bodiesKeep InformedStakeholders in this group have a high interest in the organisation and its actions. However, they have limited means to influence. Despite their lower influence, such stakeholders could be valuable ally in important decisions. Therefore, it is advisable to keep them informed about the issues they are interested in. This group of stakeholders may include voluntary organisations, local communities, communities that are dangerous to reach, Mental Health Trust, Care givers and users, and other independent sector organisations and competitors.Minimal EffortStakeholders in this group have little interest in healthcare corporate plans. They also has little power to exert much impact. It is therefore appropriate to keep these groups informed, but not invest too much effort into them. They include housing, police and national media.Foc utilise on users, carers and communities, stakeholder pastime must focus on directly accessing the views of service users and carers who are using health and social care services as well as those living in communities who are experiencing the greatest levels of health inequalities to learn they are having appropriate influence in shaping future priorities. Following are the principles that will u nderpin all stakeholder involvementStakeholders must see that their input has a real impact on the decisions made and that they are making a real difference to how local services are being planned and delivered. It is essential that feedback from involvement processes is communicated to participants and that the reasons for why particular decisions were taken are clearly adumbrate. The level of involvement should be proportionate to the scale of the issue being considered. The method of involvement should be tailored to ensure that appropriate stakeholders are accessed. It is important that all stakeholders are provided with an opportunity to participate and are actively supported to become involved either at a locality level or on a specific issue basis. It is recommended that, as far as possible, across Health and Social Care organisations, involvement with stakeholders on needs assessment and strategy development be taken forrard jointly by the Regional Board, the Agency and Trusts. Staff working in each of the organisations should seek to form close working relationships to ensure that there is minimal duplication in involving local stakeholders and agree joint processes for taking forward this work. By adopting a more collective approach it will maximise the use of available resources both in terms of staff and information, minimise the time required from stakeholders to contribute to involvement exercises and ensure that all sections within the health and care sector hear the same messages and can plan services accordingly. character reference OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE SECTORInformation management systems have much to offer in managing healthcare costs and in improving the quality of care (Kolodner et al. 2008). In addition to the embedded role of information technology in clinical and diagnostics equipment, Information systems are uniquely positioned to capture, store, process, and communicate timely information to decisio n makers for better coordination of healthcare at both the individual and population levels. For example, data mining and decision support capabilities can identify potential adverse events for an individual patient while also contributing to the populations health by providing insights into the causes of disease complications. All types of business need robust and comprehensive quality and business management systems however this takes on added importance when lives are in the hands of the business involved. Healthcare is certainly in that category. Another hallmark of healthcare information is that it is highly personal. As a result, any transfer of information between parties via technology involves risks that the information could fall into the rail at hands. Although electronic information can be made as secure as paper records, electronic storage may be perceived as having a higher likelihood of leakage, and such fears get further compounded by media attention. Thus, patients perceived probability of compromised privacy is often higher than the actual probability. An nonesuch Information management system should help the clientsProvides complete data protection and privacyMeet the business improvement objectives.Provide interfaces to other existing database repositories.strategically unite and align quality and business process information that produces reliability improvement and meets standardsEnable business governance and organizational communication.Streamline access and employ of data repositories and analytical systems needed for long-term business improvement.Provide analytics and robust search features for healthcare process performance, analysis, management review, and planning.Healthcare costs have been increase and the demand for reasonably priced high quality services is also on the rise. Effectiveness of a hospital or nursing home depends on the efficiency of its operations and management systems. Some of the major factors determining the efficacy of a health institution include patient care management and patient satisfaction. In order to meet these requirements there has been the growing need to implement hospital information systems. The healthcare industry has witnessed an increased spending on IT with most of the hospitals and healthcare organizations commuteing to electronically-based information systems.Healthcare Information management system should provide equal access to medical records throughout the country by making the diagnosing online through different digital animals. This could make sharing information among physicians for treatment and consultation much easier. It should ensure improved quality and assurance, archiving capabilities. This is is a major tool to measure clinical outcomes and control budget. It needs strong infrastructure to broadly utilize the data available online to provide continuity on database and information integration. When you take a healthcare organisation, for example a ho spital, the information management system should provide decision making processes based on qualitative information and knowledge. There should be a continuity of medical data and care information. This will aid in improving and increasing the efficiency of healthcare processes. It will also help in increasing clinical safety and the quality of the results. This includes the following stepsIdentifying and defining the problem.Gathering information, facts and assumptions.Analyzing the situation.Developing options and solutions.Comparing and evaluating these options and solutions.Select the solution that crush addresses the problem, or a best alternative decision.Acting on the decision. The way in which decision making is approached is recognised as an important function of leadership and management in health care. This increasing interest in the process of decision making as a function of management is evidence of a much larger shift in management thinking among the academic community. Although we traditionally associate leadership and management in health care with individuals, the complexity of change required in the health care system means a new paradigm of management is required. Relational approaches to healthcare management offer an alternative view. Rather than being the function of an individual, leadership is considered to be an outcome of the processes that emerge when several individuals interact. Relational processes are being recognised as just as influential in changing peoples attitudes, behaviours and actions as the direct influence of a formal manager.CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONSIn conclusion, this study mainly focuses on the healthcare sector and the external factors that affect the management of the healthcare issues. Macro environment is a very important aspect in the healthcare sector.
